The Lee rises to the north west of Luton and enters the A-Z here flowing eastwards towards the Thames

Waterend House. Mid 17th house in red brick with cement dressings. Inside is a fireplace with an inscription for 1692.It was built for Sir John Jennings and where Sarah Jennings, his granddaughter, later of Countess Marlborough, was born. It was later known as Waterend Farm
White Cottage. 16th or earlier house, timber framed with painted brick and plaster. It was originally an open hall and roof above has smoke-blackened rafters and smoke hood.
Croft Cottage – this was previously called Keepers Cottage and is down a long pathway into the woods. 17th timber frame house covered in 18th red brick. The keeper would have worked on the Brocket Hall estate

Cowper’s Spring. Lord Cowper was a landowner here.
Flint Bridge Plantation
Flint bridge. It is said that in the centre is the remains of a flint building
